Recently I've bought a 2nd hand laserdisc player. The brand is Bodysonic & the model number is AVP-900. All functions seem OK but unfortunately it came without a remote.

I'd tried programming a couple of Logitech universal remotes at hand with no success. Apparently Logitech does not have any support for this particular brand, upon exhaustive attempts via the online setup portal.

According to certain web sources, Bodysonic could be a re-badged Pioneer. Also downloaded a Sony player's manual with similar model name (but the machine was quite different). Have tried both Pioneer & Sony branded LD remotes but no luck.

Anyone could help in sourcing a workable remote or tricks to make my universal remote works?

It could be a rare one in that you probably need the remote to get the codes to be put in a universal remote like Logitech. I checked the database and its not there. I have a BTC video cd player which I couldn't get any codes for but luckily found a remote from BTC randomly which worked. I have no idea if it is the original remote. good luck.

Can you upload pics of the player (front and back) to help us get a better idea of who the manufacturer might really be?

Edit >>>> Well, I found a manual for a Bodysonic AVP-800 which is definitely a Sony. However, the 900 could be something very different still so pics of the player would still be useful.

I wonder if this is some type of bootleg of a Pana sonic with a Sony player for an Asian market

Based on pics that I've found, it looks like a clone of the Panasonic LX-K780.

Thanks to everyone's feedback so far! I'm uploading photos of the player to help further identifications.

Firstly a shot from the front.

Definitely a Panasonic machine.

Did you say that you tried Panasonic codes already?

No I haven't have a chance to try it yet but quite confident it'll work. Thanks to the hint provided by blam1, The Panasonic LX-K780 is almost identical to the player I got, except some minor differences on the LED display panel.

Thanks again to everyone's input & congratulations to LDDb for providing such a unique & useful platform for LD fans

I keep thinking karaoke players only have standard audio jacks, even though this isn't even the first one I've seen that has more than just L/R RCA.

Yeah but the price is so much cheaper now, or you get one used with bedbugs.
