Sorry about the delay, here is a video from the requested angle. Hope there’s something that can be done!

OK, the thing I wanted to see was the lens was trying to focus. It clearly is doing that. That leaves the pickup itself or "side B" offsets.

If you have a clean picture on side A with no crosstalk playing a CLV recorded LD then the tilt should be OK, but the tangential adjustment is separate for side B. It would have to be that or the pickup. You probably would have to go into test mode and then turn the servo's on to see if you can adjust the tangential alignment.

The other issue could be the ribbon cable from the turn mechanism to the main board. Could be worth a chance to test.

Thanks a ton! I’ll do some research as to how I do that stuff, I suppose, unless you guys have any grave warnings or helpful tips before I do so?

Alright, my first roadblock didn’t take long to reach. How do I put it in test mode?

Short the metal post in the red box in the attached image to the chassis of the player while turning it on. Be careful you only touch the post with whatever you are using. I have a wire with alligator clips on each end that works nicely, but you can probably get by using a paperclip.

It's not the same model, but maybe this video can help
https://youtu.be/FIMBrbRPRro?t=998
as for the adjustments numbers on the test mode themselves, I don't know if they should be the same on all players.
It helped me when I had to replace my laser in my D925 and had to recalibrate it, even though I didn't have the tests discs, I managed to calibrate it "with my eyes", though no perfect, it could work.

Sorry about the delay, school has been difficult lately. I found a safety pin and touched the little post as I turned it on, and nothing seems to have happened, at least not yet. What’s next in my process?

The test post must connect to the metal chassis of the player while you are turning the unit on. After that, you can remove whatever you are using to connect the two. You will see a bunch of diagnostic white text on the screen.

Oh, thanks a bunch! I will try this tomorrow, as it’s midnight at the moment.

Apologies for yet another delay. I found a key that was able to touch the chassis and the little rod, and a servo whirred. Has test mode been activated?

If test mode is correctly activated, you should then see white text showing up on the screen like in the video I linked in my precedent post.
