Hello.

I thought to share this blog post I wrote here. Hopefully to inspire folks who may be looking for new films to watch.

For no reason at all I ended up watching a film a day over January 2020 and posted the results (ranked in order) and shared some thoughts on what I watched.

Anyone else done something similar over a month or more?

A nuclear powered bus? What's not to love? :)

It's on Amazon Video in HD if you are keen to see it. It's a great precursor to stuff like Airplane! and Naked Gun. You can see where they plucked the ideas from.

Also the bus is a modified real bus. I never knew they made them that big!

Way down on your list, but I've always had a soft spot for Demon Seed. Will have to get a copy of Rollercoaster - curious about that one!

I once tried to watch 31 films starring John Wayne in one month. Gave up after 17 days, but that's still probably more than most people could stand.

In aprox 2½ year I was watching at least one feature film/day wth an average of 400 films per year. It may sound crazy when you hear it but looking back I really miss the enthusiasm I had. Have tried to start again but always fail after three or four days. I still get to see plenty of films that I scan through tele and datacine so you could say my interest have expanded in a new way.

Regardless, well done teddanson! Watching movies as frequently as you have done in the past month is not only a way to maintain your interest for films in general, but it's also a fantastic way to experience new films as it quickly becomes more interesting to watch unseen features rather than re-watch old ones. :)

I once did a Nic Cage challenge. Oddly enough, probably a lot easier than the John Wayne challenge because with Cage you get a ton of variety.

Loved Airplane when I was a kid and Naked Gun later.

I don't think I could bring myself to pay for a non physical copy of something ever in my life though.

The Big Bus is on Prime Video so 'free to watch' if you have a Prime subscription.

Demon Seed just didn't cut it for me. As lovely as Julie Christie is, the film was just ludicrous. The technology wasn't there to keep her trapped. Maybe if remade today it could work. I could see what it was trying to do but it just wasn't well executed.

I watched Ford v Ferrari last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. However when it comes to motor racing films, and especially films about Le Mans...well...there is only one winner in my opinion.

Le Mans (1971) is the greatest motor racing film ever made. Of this or any age. Nothing like it will be made again.

Also, I found out yesterday that Dead Tired is being released on Blu Ray this month!!!!

It's on Amazon for pre order. Sadly I think it has no English subtitles though. Hoping for better news about that when it's released.

Nope. I sign up for it for cheap shipping every time I need to order from Amazon, which is extremely rarely and then unsubscribe before they charge me.
