Hello All! I am 36 and live in Vermont with my family in a classic 3 bedroom colonial box. In my basement is my home office and game/movie room.

I have been watching laserdiscs since the mid 90's. I had a teacher who ran our schools AV lab and had a killer home theater setup.

I've had a laserdisc player and a few discs since 2000 or so, but since building my house in 2015 i've really had the space to expand my collection a bit; buying several lots on craigslist locally.

I have a player hooked up downstairs through composite downstairs, about 200 or so discs. The ones in nice shape i put in sealed plastic sleeves after i watch them (and clean the disks).

Upstairs, my pride and joy is my Pioneer DVL-909. I have the S-Video out to an HDMI upscaler, and the Coax AC3 into a Yamaha demodulator, which goes into a Sony STR-DN1080.

I watch the movies regularly, along with VCD, VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray and the occasional digital :D

Look forward to meeting folks on here and learning more about the format and collecting.

Good deal Rick.
Sounds like you've been a movie person for some time.
Keep the film collection going and hope you find some great info here.

The family? First you meet a woman; then you have sex with her. Things sort of progress naturally from there :D

Wow!! Who knew there were two of us in this small state that like LD's haha. That sounds great!

I'm in St. Albans town, but work on Pine Street in Burlington each day. Tell me you are within an hours drive!?

So attached some photos of my current setup/collection.

Have some doubles set aside for trading and an extra backup player which aren't pictured.

My collection, maybe 150-200 titles? Have never actually counted.

Quite nice.

If you want to take a look, my collection page is updated and I might be interested in trading stuff I don't care about to much for some of those doubles if there is something I would want.

Hey I know you're not going to believe this, but I live in Saint Albans as well, right by the police station! Forget about within an hours drive, we likely like 5 minutes away from each other

Small freaking world! I got about 300 or so LD's, despite what my profile on here says (I'm a bit lazy about adding things).

welcome on board. A little tip for you, try not to stack your LDs like this, they are leaning too much on the side and this could potentially get some of them to warp given enough time.
Try to keep them in an upright vertical position.
Other than that hope you enjoy your stay and learn more about the hobby.

I know this all too well, I think I added over 200 the other day.

Welcome aboard, I also have three Pioneer players and close to 400 discs. Lately I've been on a kick collecting live concerts on Laserdisc - don't why but they seem more 'real' on this format, sound is usually outstanding.

Looks like St. Albans has the beginnings of an LD club! (boy I wish I knew of one locally).

So how does one do this? You look up a disc on the main site and then click "Add to my collection?"

Is there a faster way? haha
