So i came across a sealed Lion King CAV box set locally.
Last night we thought we would open up check out the goodies and watch it,
Has not seen since was at the movies so was genuinely looking forward to watching and see if it still holds up today, and was a good chance to test out my New R7G player.

Anyone else came across this?
Curious how often this happened.

Two of the same disc? Was the deal legitimate? Kinda hard to get data on that now unfortunately.

legitimate deal? Well was from a retro toy shop. Wasnt a swap in a back alleyway for drugs if thats what you mean.

That was really unlucky.

Oh man, that stinks. It would have been a little better if at least the supplements were duped. That kind of thing is why buying sealed is rarely desirable.

Aside from broken LDs, I’ve had this kind of thing happen before. I bought a PS1 game once, something Greatest Hits, with duplicate discs. A few years ago (EDIT: was actually 2013) when the US 45 RPM version of Fleetwood Mac/Fleetwood Mac came out mine had two disc 1s in it. I was able to get stuff like this exchanged because they were still in production at the time. This is why I usually open everything as soon as I get it even though I might not actually use it for years. Trying to rerun something you just found out is defective years after the return period expired is difficult now that Sears is out of business.

Btw, don’t stack your discs on top of each other like that, please. In the player, in the jacket, or in transition between the two are really the only state LDs should be in. Photos like that make my teeth vibrate like nails on a chalkboard.

But if it's any consolation, you can just buy the CAV release of the Lion King to get the 2nd disc as they're basically the same.

Yeah will look to do that, just a shame is all. Im sure quality wise very little between them.
On the plus side my new R7G works and looks great

Only issue like this that I can remember having was buying Predator new and the stickers were switched, side A was on B etc. But the disc had rot so it
had to be exchanged for another.

Still own that second one, but it was new so we were able to take it back.
Try to exchange that one now

No, the movie itself should be in CAV as the Disney US box sets were almost always in CAV for the movie, but CLV for the supplements.

Aw, that sucks. I just watched the CLV of this the other day, it's not bad but CAV probably does look better. Maybe you can find a cheap listing for an incomplete set or something.
