Just going to be used for the LD Player They are great for LD players and the VSA/VSX series even match the color and shape of the HLD-X9. https://audio-heritage.jp/PIONEER-EXCLUSIVE/amp/vsa-d8ex.htmlI still have this baby, been using it for the past 20 years, it survived 5 international relocations. Only the remote control died -- I'm stuck with the current setup, one plastic foot broke and the power button top-left is getting stubborn at time. I'd love to replace it but until it dies on me, it is still performing as well as day #1. Julien

The OPPO does the decoding/preamp and the Pioneer VSA/VSX only does the amplification for new codecs. It also has the PHONO input with ground that went missing for a long time until vinyl went mainstream again. Attachment:

Attachment: VSA-E07.jpg Julien I forgot to mention that the amp does have DD EX and DTS-ES decoding which is also nice to have. Also, I would find the 5.1 analog input useful since I'm still using the older SACD and DVD Audio players w/ no HDMI output.

I'm stuck with my Denon LA-2100 hooked up to a Samsung Soundbar/subwoofer.
Hopefully buying a house later this year and I can finally start working on a theater room with actual surround sound. I constantly see retro Pioneer sound systems on my local Craigslist and FB Marketplace for cheap, I just don't have the space right now. Thanks! I had been looking for over year now for anything can handle demodulating RF AC3, I was actually close to giving up locally here in New Zealand. $120NZD and a short drive in the end, manual remote and fantastic condition. h

Yeah was just quickly testing that it read the AC3 RF correctly. Once i tidy everything up it have its own spot. Actually is quite clear in manual do not operate with DVD/LD players etc on top ,

Nice bit of kit there mate How do you rate its sound quality and how does your R7G compare to your original CLD-D590, was it worth the investment?
