Nice one I remember the first DTS disc I ever bought was Hard Target. I was so excited, I couldnt wait. When it arrived and I opened it, I found it had been cracked in half! Luckily I got a refund, but I had to wait a lot longer before I would get my next DTS disc, which was True Lies. I don't have Gone with the Wind in the collection yet. Been holding out for this copy!

Talking of True Lies, it is on the new Film Stories podcast this week. https://www.filmstories.co.uk/podcast/p ... tory-1971/Don't forget the time Cannibal Holocaust and New York Ripper received police escorts out of the UK! I am not a fan of film censorship, but I do draw the line at stuff like A Serbian Film in the sense that I just choose not to watch it as it isn't something I want to watch, though what went on in the 80's and 90's was utter lunacy.

f**k that. Not appropriate to social justice warriors on twitter? The rest of us can understand it's a f***ing movie made for whatever reason it was made. GWTW is completely appropriate because it's a f***ing MOVIE. Movies can actually say whatever they want in the "free" Western world. Did GWTW accurately portray subserviance of blacks in America in that period? Probably. So why do you want to erase it? It's pretty damn accurate. Whether the director glorified it or not is up to the director. It's f***ing ART. Art should never be censored. Neither should actual history and people should learn to differentiate between the two for the sake of humanity. Us sane people have to keep speaking up or you let the twitterati change history and artistic freedom/new thinking or ideas. They push dangerous ideas underground where they get REALLY dangerous because intelligent people have forgottten how to think for themselves and just look to their SJW/Twitter masters for what is right and wrong.

Thanks! I have it on now. Yep it is in near mint condition bar a small crease in a corner of the back sleeve. The video and audio are perfect. The audio is especially excellent. Really lovely sound. Glad I hunted out a PAL version. I just wish the sleeve had a red LED on the spine!

At around the thirty minute mark per episode that is a six hour session if watching all at once. However it is done enjoy them.

Well it's not the Japanese Boxset, but I did purchase all four volumes of Twin Peaks on Laserdisc finally, only cost me $60 after shipping thanks to a generous seller here on the site.
I believe I have all the US releases now, including the Extended Pilot, and Fire Walk With Me.
I still want the Japanese set some time for all the bonus features, but I can wait.

Make sure you watch the first two season of the show before seeing the movie, I know it's billed as a prequel, but it's also a sequel in a few ways. Not sure if they're on Netflix in the UK, but they are in the US.

I finally managed to buy some DTS discs at sensible prices! Both of these DTS discs are new and sealed so I hope they play, I usually stay away from sealed discs. First is a favourite I haven't seen in decades and hopefully something that will make the DTS (Damn That's Sexy) audio sing like Phil Collins playing Handel's Water Music on an Ocarina... Thomas Dolby's Gate To The Mind's Eye. That will sit nicely with my Virtual Drug Laserdiscs! Next is a pile of poo, but it is in DTS so it immediately levels up to the Gundam Master Grade of Laserdiscs...whatever that is... Street Fighter! IN....D......T.....S!!!! Hopefully the sound is that good I will be able to reenact the THX parody in The Simpsons when I watch it! Next is something I would usually avoid however it is a film I absolutely love. Robert Ginty is THE man in The Exterminator! However, this is a PAL promo edition. I bought it for three reasons. One, the film is great, I have it and the awful sequel on Blu. Two, I want to see if it is the censored version or if it was a promo cut circulated prior to classification, though I think the film came out before the VRA in 1984, I am unsure. Finally, there is a scene in the film which is optically censored. It was done on some prints of the film and not others. The Blu uses the optically censored negatives and no HD edition that uses the uncensored reels exists afaik. It will be interesting to see what was used here. Also, check out the label. Notice underneath there is a barcode? I can't read all the digits so don't know what is under there. Anyone seen that on promos before? Is it maybe the final center art with a yellow promo label stuck on top of it to prevent resale? Very pleased to add The Exterminator to my collection. Finally, I got the USA box set of Fawlty Towers. Immaculate condition and complete with horrendous cover art. THERE IS TOO MUCH BUTTER ON THOSE TRAYS. Also, I got an optical splitter and two very long optical coax and toslink cables. That makes my Zoom U44 setup complete. It also means I should be able to pop an LD on, capture it and the audio while sat on the couch and also while using the AVR for something else. The reason being that the LD audio runs to a Toslink switch and spits out audio to the splitter before it touches the AVR, so I don't need it on if I am just doing audio capture e.g. recording concerts for my DAP. That covers Digital, DTS and AC3. Almost all bases covered except phono which I've still to sort out. Once I get DTS captured bit perfect I will write it all up on my blog if it helps anyone out.

Welcome to the DTS club Ted! I have the Street Fighter DTS and I can assure you the picture and sound are first rate! I too went a bit mad and ordered a few more DTS discs after my high from watching the Con Air DTS disc. You'll have to wait until they arrive before I say which ones they were! teddanson wrote: Hopefully the sound is that good I will be able to reenact the THX parody in The Simpsons when I watch it!
