Very cool! I bought a Japanese import of "The Towering Inferno" in the late 1980s, since it was (and is) one of my all-time favorite movies. Then the USA wide screen release came out from Fox Video, and I bought that one new also (for US$70 at the time, but worth every penny to me!).

Enjoy your discs.

American Graffiti Signature Collection US set, its a little too bright in some scenes and a little dark in others. But it is easily the best looking release of this film on laserdisc. Too bad about the changed credits and cgi sunset but i can live with it.

Picked up a copy of "Logan's Run" special edition.
Tons of linear notes and extra content for fans of the original cannon.

And found a few common titles at an old second hand store unexpectedly.
"STAR TREK : UNDESCOVERED COUNTRY" VI
"THE FRENCH LIEUTENANT'S WOMAN"
"DRUMS"
and a decent copy of "GONE WITH THE WIND"....

Navigated a deal for the late release of "TREKKIES" [LV336773]. 1999.
I knew it would be odd. However did not realize THAT odd !

Cheers to the membership !

Got the Criterion Blu Ray of this and one of the few discs I'm keeping. Remember watching many Saturday afternoons in the '80s and '90s when this was broadcast on TV in Australia.

Nice. Strangely it's more and more prescient as times go on.

NICE. The only source for used LDs in person near me is an old school Hi Fi repair place. They expect premo dollars tho so I never bother.

I think I saw this broadcast on Australian SBS. Very cool LD. Congrats on your acquisition (not a Trekkie, appreciated the first four movies as a kid and the original TV show in reruns but anything other than that bored me to tears)

Since my grandmother really wanted to see the John Ford film The Informer, I bought a Laserdisc copy so she and I can watch it together.

Indiana Jones The Last Crusade, Letterbox Japan pressing from the set but loose. No obi, it was 6 bucks. For me this completes the trilogy because i have Letterbox Temple of Doom i picked up for 12 dollars on Mercari with no obi, and i have Raiders rental copy laserdisc in Letterbox with obi which was 24 dollars. Which was sealed until i opened it.

I also just purchased the rental copy of Dr No, no OBI. A bit pricy 24 dollars, I probably could have haggled but I didn't feel like it. Weird cover art. Musical notes behind James Bond and Honey Ryder tiny in the image, must be the Japanese theatrical poster.

The 2000 Japanese Pressing of the Star Wars trilogy Special Edition. No Obi.

Quite expensive, I have no idea why it was a hundred dollars. It was the one set I didn't have.

Now I have all the Japanese releases except for the Analog audio release of From Star Wars to Jedi, and I don't have The Ewok Adventure or The Battle for Endor.

Don't need the stand alone making of trilogy releases because they were packed in the 1995 set.

changed my mind and putting the long version on 2 x VHS. It's kinda stupid having like 6 Blu Rays - it's all going analogue.

The long version on the Blu Ray is 197 minutes btw, and apparently close to the original roadshow length. I think the LD is 188? Both longer than the TV version at like 160 something.

Didn't buy this but thought about getting it in the past when I seen it on Ebay a couple times. I just Won this from a Giveaway from https://www.ebay.com/str/hazelfiver . For some reason after giveaway my account was temporarily banned for 3 days on Reddit which is obnoxious but whatever. Seller sent me the tracking information and was very kind. This movie goes with my other laserdiscs. I own Forbidden Planet and I believe they said this movie uses the same props from that movie. I don't ever Win Giveaways so it's nice to Win one. I've tried others but never Win anything. However, when I was a kid probably about 7 or 8 years old some elderly Woman Won a raffle and she gave me her ticket and I ended up getting an old school RC Sonic the Hedgehog remote control car. At the time that bad boy was priced around 40 bucks so back in the early 90s $40 is probably closer to $80 so not a cheap small remote control car shockingly enough. It is not a big remote control car but it did awesome spins when you put a weight on it. That was a long time ago though. I'm almost 38 years old so about 30 years ago.

Oh yeah, I promised Hazelfiver I would do screen captures so when my account on reddit is no longer banned I will do that for him/her. The package isn't expected to be here that quickly anyways so my ban should be done by then.

Managed to get a few interesting japanese releases (all with obi).

Some seem to be somewhat rare.
However I do not know if this is because they are very uncommen or rather because they are plain bad.
Except the Gundam Movies. I know why I bought them!

Nevertheless: Got a lot of cover pictures to take, edit and information to update.

Gundam: The Movies [BELL-185]
Golden Warrior: The Gold Lightan [PILA-1283]
Heidi (Alps No Shojo Heidi): Heidi and Clara [COLC-3085]
Appearance of Good Luck: vol.1 [MRLA-90001]
GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal Round 1 [VPLV-70592]
GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal Round 2 [VPLV-70593]

Cyber Formula is occasionally interesting 90s boys anime. Not terrible not great.

The Gundam box I’ve never seen but I’d assume it’s hugely inferior to the Master Grade Box which is top tier.

The movie version of Heidi is famously disowned by Takahata and Miyazaki. You’ll still love it, because it’s friggn magical, the little goats will dance and it will be so beautiful you will cry, but it’s basically like one of those clip show recap episodes

I don’t actually know what the deal is with the Gold Lightan movie, if it’s a comp or an original. It’s a cool anime though.
