Picked these up the other day. 100 ZAR each. Drove to Benoni for them. The birthplace of Charlize Theron. :P

Jack Frost on Laserdisc is amazing. On Ebay I've seen it selling for $300-$350 usd which I'm not sure if anyone actually paid that but I think that price is insane. I own this movie on DVD but would have loved it on laserdisc more. It's probably the same release on dvd. I think it's 4:3. I'd imagine the film print is similar. It's probably similar in quality. DVD might beat it a bit because DVD does show a little more detail and Pioneer Players also do clv smearing unless it's one of the really expensive players in thousands range. DVD's don't usually smear. I would have to check my copy of Jack Frost on dvd. I do know from a Pinocchio Revenge copy I seen online that the video quality on that shows a bit more detail than the laserdisc version but the laserdisc version of Pinocchio's Revenge is pretty good for the format.

If you have a capture device maybe you can post some Jack Frost screen caps in the screenshot thread. Though be warned people are critical on there and if you don't have the best capture device in the World they rip you apart for it. Which I find nuts because I think my Hauppauge isn't that bad. Maybe it's taking about 5 percent or maybe a little more off of quality and I guess on this format that wold probably be a significant loss of quality. I don't think my screenshots are that awful but apparently some users of this forum think so.

You have not seen it sell for 300 or 350 but sellers asking said price.
Asking and selling are two different things.

I don't own any capture devices, so all the rest of it is a moot point for me. :P
