I've seen a few PAL Laserdiscs with PAL/SECAM on the cover and I was wondering were there actually any pure SECAM Laserdisc players? My assumption is that there maybe was due to, for example, France being a pure SECAM country for many years until the migration to DVB. What does it mean for Laserdisc players? Which ones can play back SECAM discs, if indeed there were any? Or were PAL discs able to be played back on SECAM equipment with no problem? There's some great information about SECAM here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SECAMI never knew that until recently, North Korea loved a bit of SECAM goodness! Personally I only have one SECAM item, a French VHS of one of the best films ever made, the magnificent Speed Driver (never released on Laserdisc afaik). Sadly it only plays back in B&W on my VHS deck. SECAM VCR's seem to be a rarity for some reason, unless I'm looking in the wrong places.

My TV won't work with SECAM I don't think as SECAM for TV's hasn't been a thing for years afaik? Yeah the Trinitron is obviously old and not my main tv. Running a 32" crt all the time uses too much juice, plus it's only 480/576i max

I'd love to see a PAL vs SECAM vs NTSC comparison. I always had the impression BITD that SECAM was some super high tech format better than Pal and NTSC.
