xtempo wrote: If its been mention can someone point to me how to capture audio using the digital out. I would like to hook my CLD-79 and SPD-99 to my mac pro if possible to capture some audio that way. I don't know about mac pro, but some desktop pc motherboards have digital coax input onboard, I have an old LGA775 mb here with both coax output and input. It's actually an older OEM HP mini tower. I guess it's possible some mb's might have optical input onboard but I don't recall seeing one myself. Other than that it would be an audio card scenario I guess.

jmbirch wrote: Is it the best quality capture? It is very good for the cost. However, i have one that i bought to test (not sure if it is exact same YMMV), and it "softens" the picture, reduces the luma resolution. Here i captured using the composite to hdmi converter i got from amazon: Compared to using a Harris X75 with OPT-A3D: Notice the medals on the Captain's chest. For the first one, the individual lines are blurred together, but for the x75, you can make them out. However, it is getting hard to find good composite equipment these days. It's all used, old, surplus, on ebay.
