Thanks je280.....
This news was sobering and solemnly received.

One of my heros growing up for the many obvious roles he acted.
I was too young to appreciate his 007 stint. Fortunately he never gave up the wardrobe and costume calls !

His "The Highlander" role and infamous "The Hunt for Red October" roles are some of my favs of his.
Cannot forget the remake of "The Avengers" villain role he played.
Loved his METEOR role opposite Natalie Wood...circa late 1970's. Too many to recollect !

He never got type cast (imo!) Very difficult in the contemporary acting world (imo!)

A true Scott ! An advocate for Scottish Independence for decades !
Hopefully his dream in that regard will be realized down the road God willing !

Fare thee well Sean Connery ! May you find other roles worthy of your genius !

Condolences to his family and close friends......

Cheers mates,

James

Don't know if I ever got them but I did love the JB films when I was a young kid and my parents would rent them on VHS.
They were some of the first few LDs we ever bought, remember buying some of the films from Columbia House and the Connery box when it first came out
as we couldn't afford the Criterion versions of the first 3 films.

Also remember getting Zardoz, one of his real underrated films.

Come to think of it I think I own a bunch of his films, more than other actors???

That got me thinking too. Six Bond films plus Highlander 1 & 2, Zardoz, and Outland, that's 10.

Yeah, I guess I own a bunch of 'em, too.

unfortunately I still haven't gone back and watch any early bond. all the way through even though I have enjoyed pierce and craig but even then I still haven't watched all of the modern ones either. Its a franchise worth watching so one of these days I should watch all of them. and of course watch his other films. I found the book dry but I hope Hunt For Red October to be better.

Sir Thomas Sean Connery was a fabulous actor and more than just James Bond! There is something magical and honorable about his very special manner.
I really like his performance Marko Ramius in The Hunt for Red October. Let's not forget movies like Highlander, The Name of the Rose, The Untouchables and The Rock.

He will be well remembered, the great Sir Sean Connery, a true gentleman and legend.

He was also great as Dr. Jones Sr. in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I also liked the characters he played in Time Bandits, The Hunt for Red October, and Highlander I & II.
